STONE OF THE MONTH - JANUARY 2021: SPANISH BEIGE SANDSTONE

Beige-yellow sandstone with medium grain size in which quartz predominates. Small amounts of micas also appear, bringing tiny bright spots to the cut surface, as well as iron oxyhydroxides creating light streaks, which gives the stone a unique character.

It is mined in Northern Spain, where reserves of the quarry are estimated to exceed 500,000 cubic meters.

It is a sandstone of great hardness and tremendously versatile, which is used in all types of cladding, massifs, masonry and other architectural elements. Its raw surface fits well into both rustic and modern architectural environments.
